Peaceably to Assemble

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
– 1st Amendment of the United States of America

Let me repeat this section”

“Congress shall make no law respecting… the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Did you read those words, “right of the people peaceably to assemble?” That was peaceably, not violently.

“Peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” So, we can peacefully gather as a people & bring our list of “grievances” to the government to do something to change.

Not violently. Not one time does it mention violence, in speech or action, as a right of the people. So I think all those that use violence in their speech or in their actions to show their disagreements with the government.

We the People are right there in shunning violent actions done against members of our Government. But we are not that quick to speak out against violent voices saying horrible things against one another in the Government or against members of the Government.

Is it not time for everyone involved in the Government to take a step back & stop being so violent in their speech toward one another? I think so.
